Munaga Aaku pappu koora/Drumstick leaves dal curry
Ingredients
MUNAGA AAKU PAPPU KOORA/DRUMSTICK LEAVES DAL CURRY
1 cup toor dal 2 cuos drumstick leaves 1/2 cup chopped onions 2 green chillis 1/4 tsp haldi 3 to 4 garlic pods 2 red chillis 1/2 tsp each rai, jeera and urad dal few curry leaves one tbsp oil and salt to taste
Method:
Wash the drumstick leaves and remove the leaves from the stem as shown in the video. Take the leaves into a vessel and add a cup of water and 1/4tsp salt. Close the lid and cook until the leaves become tender. Switch off the flame and drain the water and keep it aside. Throw away the water.
Wash toor dal and put it into a vessel add 2 cups of water and boil. When the dal is 3/4 cookd (par boiled) drain the water. Do not trow away the water.
Heat a table spoon of oil in a pan. To it add Rai , jeera and urad dal. When rai starts spluttering add the red chillis and fry for a while and add the mashed garlic pods. Add the curry leaves. Chopped onions and green chillis. When the onions are cooked add salt and haldi. Now add the cooked drumstick leaves and add the left over dal water. Close the lid and cook for 5 mins in a medium flame.
Now add the par boiled dal and cook for 5 to 8 mins. until the curry is cooked properly.
Swich off the flame and take the curry into a serving bowl. Tasty Munaga Aaku koora/Drumstick leaves dal curry is ready.
This curry is really tasty and nutritious serve it with rice or chappatis.
