Soak chana dal for an hour. Boil it in a vessel. When the dal is half boiled add chopped onions, green chillies and turai pieces. Add salt to taste and haldi. Cook until the curry is done.
Heat a table spoon of oil in a pan. Add rai, jeera and urad dal to it. When rai starts spluttering add red chillies, curry leaves and mashed garlic pods. Fry for a while and add the thadka to the curry. Add grated coconut and mix well. Take the curry into a serving bowl and garnish with grated coconut and finely chopped coriander leaves. Tasty Turai chanadal curry/Beerakaya chenagapappu koora is ready...........Tastes good with rotis.....
